5 More Brand New Horror Movies Releasing This Thursday and Friday!

This week has been absolutely loaded up with new horror, with six brand new horror movies already releasing at home this past Tuesday. Guess what? That was only the beginning.

The summer horror season is in full swing with the first big theatrical release of the summer this weekend, and it’s joined by four more new horror movies in these final days of the week.

Here’s all the new horror arriving June 23 & 24, 2022!


Revealer trailer Shudder

First up, the neon-soaked horror movie Revealer premiered this morning on Shudderwritten by comic authors Tim Seeley (Hack / Slash, Revival) and Michael Moreci (Barbaric, The Plot).

Director Luke Boyce‘s Revealer stars Caito Aase (Black Mold) and Shaina Schrooten (Scare Package II: Rad Chad’s Revenge).

In the film, “What started off as a typical Chicago work day in 1987 for Angie Pittarelli (Aase), a dancer at the Revealers Bookstore peep show booth, turns tragic when her annoying boss is suddenly killed in an uprising outside the store leaving her trapped in the booth, unable to escape. Soon she learns that hiding out in the booth next to hers is none other than Sally Mewbourne (Schrooten), an overzealous religious protester that seems to get a kick out of regularly harassing Angie.

“Sally is in a panic claiming that the rapture has occurred and the apocalypse has begun. With nowhere left to turn, Angie and Sally must separate their differences and come together to fight this unknown evil, navigating the treacherous bootlegger tunnels below the store to survive the unthinkable. ”

Scott Derrickson (Sinister, Doctor Strange) is back with The Black Phonean adaptation of Joe Hill‘s short story that’s headed exclusively to theaters on Friday, June 24.

Finney Shaw, a shy but clever 13-year-old boy, is abducted by a sadistic killer and trapped in a soundproof basement where screaming is of little use. When a disconnected phone on the wall begins to ring, Finney discovers that he can hear the voices of the killer’s previous victims. And they are dead set on making sure that what happened to them does not happen to Finney. ”

Starring four-time Oscar nominee Ethan Hawke in the most terrifying role of his career and introducing Mason Thames in his first ever film role, The Black Phone is produced, directed, and co-written by Scott Derrickson, the writer-director of Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Marvel’s Doctor Strange.

The film’s screenplay is by Derrickson & C. Robert Cargill (Doctor Strange, Sinister franchise).


Released in theaters last week, Vertical Entertainment’s Abandoned now comes home to VOD outlets this Friday. Emma Roberts stars alongside John Gallagher Jr. spirit Michael Shannon.

Spencer Squire directed the film, written by Erik Patterson spirit Jessica Scott.

Abandoned follows the sharply intense lives of Sara (Emma Roberts), her husband Alex (John Gallagher Jr.), and their infant son as they move into a remote farmhouse, which harbors a dark, tragic history. As their home’s past is revealed, the mother’s fragility escalates to a state of psychosis that jeopardizes her own safety and that of her newborn son.


Berberian Sound Studio spirit In Fabric filmmaker Peter Strickland is back this week with Flux Gourmeta bonkers new horror-comedy that IFC Midnight brings to the table tomorrow.

Flux Gourmet comes to select theaters and Digital / VOD on Friday.

In the film, “A sonic collective who cannot decide on a name takes up a residency at an institute devoted to culinary and alimentary performance. The members Elle di Elle, Billy Rubin and Lamina Propria are caught up in their own power struggles, only their dysfunctional dynamic is furthermore exacerbated when they have to answer to the institute’s head, Jan Stevens. With the various rivalries unfolding, Stones, the Institute’s dossierge ‘has to privately endure increasingly fraught stomach problems whilst documenting the collective’s activities.

“Upon hearing of Stones’ visits to the gastroenterologist, Dr Glock, Elle coerces him into her performances in a desperate bid for authenticity. The reluctant Stones puts up with the collective’s plans to use his condition for their art whilst Jan Stevens goes to war with Elle over creative differences. ”

The final new horror release for the week is Dark Sky’s Dawn Breaks Behind the Eyes, which comes to Digital this Friday. It’s said to be inspired by Mario Bava and classic Italian horror.

The genre-bending Gothic horror movie comes from director Kevin Kopackastarring Jeff Wilbusch of Peacock’s “The Missing.” You watch the gorgeous official trailer below.

In Dawn Breaks Behind the Eyes, “Margo, who comes from a noble family, inherited a castle that she inspects with her ill-tempered husband Dieter. When they arrive at the run-down keep, their relationship is put to a test as their sanity slowly deteriorates. This opens up a new world. As time and space begin to shift around them, a reality that only exists within the walls of the eerie building is exposed – a reality full of warmth and excess.

“Things aren’t as they seem in this genre-bending film, that shifts between different story layers in unpredictable ways. It is a love letter to European cinema of the sixties and seventies that will leave viewers guessing what will happen next. ”

The cast also includes Anna Platen (Para – We are King), Luisa Taraz, Frederik Von Lüttichau (Gender Crisis), with Bill Becker, Christopher Rammand Elena Gomez Alvarez.
