Two youths and two adults were found dead in a home in Colorado in an apparent homicide-suicide as the investigation forced the nearby community to take refuge on the spot, authorities said Sunday.
The sheriffs of El Paso County responded to a call Saturday just after noon. 10 to a report of a person seriously injured in Gleneagle, a town just north of Colorado Springs, the sheriff’s office said in a statement Sunday.
When deputies arrived, they found 2 children and two adults dead inside a residence, prompting a request to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit to respond on the spot.
Based on evidence uncovered at the scene, a “reverse 911” call was sent out to the community within a two-mile radius of the spot where they were ordered “to shelter in place, lock their doors and windows and hold away from exterior walls “said officials.
A Sheriff’s Office Tactical Support Unit was also requested to come to the scene.
Police say they do not believe there is any threat to society at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
