Body of man found in LaSalle in the city’s 28th murder in 2021

MONTREAL – A man was found dead in a residence in Montreal’s LaSalle district Sunday morning.

Montreal police say his death marks the city’s 28th homicide in 2021.

A 911 call was made around 5 a.m. Sunday morning to report the 48-year-old man who was found unconscious and injured in an apartment on Shevchenko Blvd. and David-Boyer St.

“First aid was attempted on the victim,” police spokeswoman Veronique Comtois said, “but unfortunately he was pronounced dead at the scene.”

The man “bore signs of violence,” according to Comtois.

A 38-year-old man was arrested in connection with the attack.

Investigators from the Department of Major Crimes have been put on trial.
