British footwear giant JD Sports opens storefront in Metro Vancouver

British sportswear and sneaker retailer JD Sports is opening a storefront in Metro Vancouver.

JD Sports was first founded in 1981 in Bury, Greater Manchester, and has since expanded to include retail locations in the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia, New Zealand and Australia.

The company is a subsidiary of the JD Group umbrella, which owns a number of other prominent sportswear and footwear retailers such as Size ?, Foot Patrol, Finish Line, Shoe Palace, DTLR and Livestock.

JD Sports’ latest store will be located in Surrey’s Guildford Town Center and will be among the first wave of stores to open in Canada, along with a storefront in Toronto’s CF Fairview Mall.

Shoppers can expect to find footwear and clothing from brands such as Nike, Jordan, Adidas, Calvin Klein, Reebok and Puma among others.

Although an official date has not yet been announced, the opening is scheduled for sometime in the fall. We will keep you informed when more details are available.
