Bronx fire: Fire in New York City injured 9 firefighters, 2 civilians

FDNY said it received a call about the fire in a multi-unit residential building shortly before noon. Twenty-five units responded on the scene, including more than 100 firefighters and EMS members. The fire was under control around 4.15pm

Nine firefighters were transported with minor injuries to North Central Bronx Hospital, according to FDNY. The two wounded civilians refused medical attention, authorities said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, the fire department said.
