Council support continues for businesses, residents

The Brimbank Council has continued to support local businesses and residents as the state reopens this weekend.

The Council’s COVID business support staff have worked directly with Brimbank companies to raise awareness and provide support on COVID – safe requirements and restrictions, including the new reopening options.

The team has worked across a range of Brimbank procurement strips and commercial areas, providing information and advice on COVID-safe business requirements and helping companies prepare for reopening.

The council has also expanded the COVID connector program, which acts as a one-stop-shop to provide practical assistance, including temporary food assistance, vaccine and isolation information, and information on how to link vaccination certificates.

Brimbank Mayor Ranka Rasic said they were excited about the companies reopening.

“As restrictions begin to be lifted in Victoria and life begins to look a little more normal, it is possible that the number of infections will increase, but so will the level of vaccinated members of society.

“It is important to take care of yourself and others. If you have symptoms of COVID-19, get tested and stay home.

“The COVID Connector program is just one of the ways in which the Council supports health partners and society. Our teams can provide information and practical help to those who need it.”
