Enjoy your stay: Top 5 Canberra Airbnb’s

We all love a relaxing stay, either with a loved one or alone for a much needed solitude. Now that lockdown restrictions have finally been eased, we can once again enjoy living in a home that is not our own!

Canberra Weekly journalist Abbey Halter has compiled the 5 most trendy Canberra Airbnb’s that you can check out if you’re looking for a unique stay.

Romantic Gypsy Retreat

$ 95 / nat

Description: A sustainable gypsy paradise! Polly has transformed her handmade caravan into an enchanting and unique home away from home, fully equipped with everything you need – including heating and a cozy kitchenette. Take a leap back in time and enjoy the captivating charm The Gypsy Caravan exudes.

Top Visitors Review: Anne, June 2021

“Polly’s gypsy caravan is a real treat. The first thing I noticed (and loved) when I stepped inside was the smell of REAL wood – you know that smell of sauna? Next, the scent of fresh jonquils was in a vase. The parquet floor was warm and beautiful to feel barefoot, even in winter. The kitchen counter is a monument of ‘wood’, a rich reddish-brown, thick, with knobs and solid as. The bathroom is perfect, proving that one does not really need a “vanity” when the stylish kitchen sink is half a meter away. The Cinderella toilet works like a charm. The bed is comfortable – I have not slept so well for a long time. The gypsy carriage is hidden away behind the main house, so it feels quite private. The stained glass windows provide more privacy again. I felt safe. Cocooned. Thanks, Polly for making sure I had everything I needed. Oh, and I loved your pesto! “

‘Branx’ penthouse

$ 141.43 / nat

Description: This Airbnb is funky, modern construction at its best with floating oak floors, a recessed porcelain kitchen sink and the stylish part, in my opinion, the cosmopolitan balcony with modern circular porches! You have the whole apartment to yourself to enjoy the incredible architectural design and there is even a special offer on a free bottle of South Australian wine (with conditions).

Irma’s little house

$ 97.29 / nat

Description: This small house in the heart of old Canberra is the perfect private getaway, easily within walking distance of the bustling Manuka Village. The place’s antique decor and vintage style create the ideal atmosphere – its quirky character is to die for! The cherry on top is that dinner and breakfast can be arranged by the owner upon request.

Top Visitors Review: Keshnee, May 2021

“We loved everything about our stay in Irma’s beautiful little house !! Irma herself is a wonderful host and was so incredibly warm and welcoming to us! The house is ideally located and only 10 minutes drive from the city center and beautifully decorated with charming vintage pieces. Definitely 100% recommend staying here if given the chance. “

Wattagan Homestead

$ 517.14 / nat

Description: With six comfortable bedrooms and three bathrooms, the whole family will be captivated by the whole home, with more than enough space for everyone. The views of Brindabellas are simply magical, the library is the ultimate getaway, and the stylish free-standing baths are almost straight out of a movie. This country house, just 25 minutes from Canberra, is truly a dream.

Top Visitors Review: Tabitha, June 2021

“Our stay was just amazing. The house was amazing !! Jon and his wife allowed us to visit chooks and horses and do things that will create lifelong memories long after the stay is over. The kitchen is large and extremely well stocked. The dining table “is big enough to allow more families to eat together. All in all, it was wonderful and we hope to return !!”

Designer apartment in the heart of Braddon

$ 167.23 / nat

Description: If you are looking for something sophisticated and luxurious, check out this chic apartment in the heart of Braddon! With Canberra’s best restaurants, cafes and shopping just down the street, this place offers an abundance of natural light, sweeping bedroom views and even a plant-filled conservatory right in the middle of the apartment – perfect for your morning coffee and arvo drinks.

Top Visitors Review: Brice, April 2021

“My boyfriend and I had such a great stay in this amazing apartment. The decor is just amazing and when you think it could not get better, there are Aesop products in the bathroom. Daniel’s communication was great and check in was easy. If you are traveling to Canberra, Braddon is the place to be and Daniel’s apartment has the best location for all the best restaurants. We would definitely love to return in the future. “
