The original Hocus Pocus is fixtures for most households during the Halloween season, and Disney has been promising a successor for years. Instead of an actual trailer for this Halloween, Disney unveiled a new list of characters who will join the Sanderson sisters’ (again played by Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimi and Better Funds) another adventure.

Participates in the cast of Hokus Pokus 2 will be Hollywood’s resident monster man Doug Jones, Veep alumni Tony Hale and Sam Richardson (also of pretty good Werewolves inside!), and Ted Lassos Hannah Waddingham. Jones, you may remember, played the zombie Billy Butcherson, who went on to help Salem’s children defeat the Sanderson sisters and his ex, Winnie (Funds).

They are joined by Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, Belissa Escobedo, Juju Brener, Froy Gutierrez, Taylor Henderson and Nina Kitchen. The younger actors you’ve probably seen in shows like Teen Wolf or the short-lived ABC series, The Baker and the Beauty. There is no doubt that some of them are ready to set in motion or be exposed to any danger that the sisters are making. Outside of Jones, the roles of the other characters in the film have not yet been revealed.

The new Hocus Pocus will in fact have the same plot as the original film back in 1993: accidentally resurrected by a trio of young girls, the Sanderson Sisters arrives in present-day Salem and begins to destroy everything while hunting for children to drain the life force out of them. Handling the follow-up will be 27 dresses and Dumplin ‘ director Anne Fletcher, who back in May said that the new film “is a film for everyone, from fans who grew up with the first film to the next generation of viewers … We should laugh every day and there is so much fun to have with these three incredible women who play delicious characters from such a beloved film. “

Hokus Pokus 2 will hit Disney + in 2022.
