Harry Maguire points out that Manchester United are planning to stop Tottenham’s Harry Kane

Harry Maguire has revealed that Manchester United have ‘worked hard’ to improve defensively this week.

Liverpool humiliated United last weekend when they won 5-0 at Old Trafford, which was the biggest away win in the match’s history.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær is now under intense pressure after that defeat, but his player has also been held responsible for the performance – Maguire is especially a player who has been criticized after struggling since his return from injury.

The United captain was bad against Leicester and Liverpool and he will be tasked with keeping Harry Kane quiet on Saturday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s time as Manchester United manager looks fragile after the humiliating 5-0 defeat to Liverpool.

United play Tottenham away on Saturday night, and Harry Kane has revealed how he intends to strangle the center-forward.

“Yes, I know it’s going to be a tough fight, but we have our own strengths,” Maguire told the BBC.

“We have to limit the number of chances we give him [Kane]. We know how clinically he is in front of goal, so we have to play better defensively than what we have done.

“We’ve been working hard on it this week and I’m sure you’ll see an improvement on Saturday.

“We will try to keep him as far away from our goal as possible.”
