Haverfordwest: A person brought to hospital after group gets into ‘distress’ on Pembrokeshire River | UK News

A person has been taken to hospital after a group got into “distress” at a river in Wales, police said.

A picture from Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire showed police carrying a paddleboard.

Another photograph showed three paddleboards on a road next to the river Cleddau.

The Welsh ambulance service said it was called at 9.16am to report a “water-based incident involving several people near Quay Street, Haverfordwest”.

A spokesman added: “We responded with two rapid response vehicles, three emergency ambulances and two units from Wales Air Ambulance.

“A patient (was) transferred by road to Withybush Hospital for further treatment.”

The Coast Guard said it was a “multi-agency response” including the fire department and “other emergency personnel”.
