‘Suspicious death’ in RV

Kelowna RCMP officers and the BC Coroners Service are investigating a “suspicious death” on Kelowna’s Vasile Road on Saturday.

Police were called to the scene, behind the Orchard Plaza Mountain Equipment Co-op, just after 6 p.m. Friday. A woman’s body was found inside a motorhome parked on the road, and police have stamped her death as suspicious.

No one has been arrested so far, and the investigation continues Saturday afternoon.

The motorhome is cordoned off by police tape and black curtains as several officers and the coroner search through the vehicle.

Police have not said how the woman died.

A woman was found dead on the side of Highway 33 in Rutland last month – a death police also described as “suspicious”. No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The Kelowna RCMP was called to the 1800 block of Vasile Road, behind the Orchard Plaza Save-On-Foods, just after noon. 18 Friday night where they found the woman’s body inside a vehicle.

Although they have not yet given any details on how she died, police say her death is considered suspicious.

“Investigators from the Kelowna RCMP Serious Crime Unit have conducted the investigation,” said Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy from Kelowna RCMP.

“Officers remain on the scene to gather physical evidence and search for witnesses and surveillance videos. No one has been arrested so far.”

Police have not released the woman’s identity, but anyone with information about the woman’s death has been asked to call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
