Kochie reveals special reason he will not be on Sunrise for three weeks

Sunrise co-host David “Kochie” Koch has said farewell to his colleagues as he jets off overseas for a special family occasion.

The breakfast TV presents told viewers on Thursday that he’s heading to London for his youngest daughter’s wedding.

The Channel 7 star will be away from our screens for three weeks while he and his extended family celebrate in the United Kingdom.

“Georgie is getting married, the last of the four, so it’s going to be good,” he said at the end of the show.

Kochie said he would be sharing a house with his daughter’s future in-laws, who he is yet to meet, for a week before Georgie ties the knot with her German partner, Alex.

“We’re all sharing a house with him and his parents before the wedding and we’ve never met,” the 66-year-old explained.

“It’ll either be Father Of The Bride or Nightmare On Elm Street”He added with a laugh.

“It will be a bit of fun.”

Kochie and his wife Libby have four adult children and eight grandchildren.

The wedding comes after the breakfast TV presenter gushed about his UK-based daughter’s engagement when she shared the happy news last year.

Kochie took to social media in September to say he can not wait to welcome Alex into his growing family.

“When your baby girl gets engaged,” Kochie captioned the announcement post on Instagram.

“Congrats to Georgie and ‘The German’ aka Alex … We could not be happier for you both.”
