A man is in the hospital after he was shot at least twice in southeast DC, police said.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 1800 block in Gainesville Street SE to get a report of a shooting, according to a duty officer from the MPD’s 7th District. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the man shot.

He was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries. Information about the victim has not been released by police and his condition at the hospital is not known at this time.
Investigators are still working to find out exactly what led to the shooting. No arrests have been made in this case.
