Partner charged with murder after body found in bushland believed to be missing Sydney mum

The partner of a missing 43-year-old Sydney mum has been charged with murder after a body believed to be hers was discovered in Sydney.

Shereen Kumar disappeared from her home at Taylor Road in Dural, north-west Sydney, about 9pm on Wednesday and was reported missing to authorities on Thursday morning.

Police located a body while searching through bushland in Dural on Saturday night. While it has not yet been formally identified, it is believed to be the missing woman.

Shereen Kumar's family and friends are growing more concerned about the mother as her disappearance is considered out of character.

Police arrested Vincent Carlino late on Saturday night at the couple’s home, just a couple of kilometres from where her body was found.

The 37-year-old faced Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday morning, charged with murder.

Outside court, his lawyer didn’t make any comments about how his client would plead.

“Clearly these are very serious matters and it’s still very early on in the proceedings,” Elias Tabchouri said.
