PHOTOS: Surveillance camera captures suspects of arson

WASHINGTON – DC’s Metropolitan Police Department is looking for two suspects who started a fire in a building in the 4800 block of Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue in Northeast DC

Police say the two suspects entered a business just after midnight on Saturday, October 30, and threw Molotov cocktail machines inside. The term “molotov cocktail” refers to a bottle that contains a flammable substance and a flame that is used to start a fire.

When the fire broke out, the suspects fled, police said. But their photos were taken by a surveillance camera:

If you know of any information, you can call the MPD’s anonymous tip line at 202-727-9099 at any time of the day or send an SMS to the department at 50411 anonymously.

The number of arsons recorded this year by DC Police has dropped by 77% compared to this time last year, according to police data.
