Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has branded Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw a “disgrace” for their role in their team’s 5-0 defeat to Liverpool last weekend.
The Reds claimed a historic 5-0 victory over their bitter rivals in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford last Sunday in a day to forget for Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s team.
And although United eased the pressure on their boss with a 3-0 win over Tottenham on Saturday night, Keane could not help but aim at his former team before the match.
Keane aimed at Maguire to “talk like a robot” after matches, as well as to rip into Shaw’s current form and also claimed that Aaron Wan-Bissaka is not good enough for United.

He said: “It was an embarrassing achievement.
“I heard Bryan Robson speak during the week, who was clearly a fantastic player for Manchester United and a man full of courage, and he felt the players gave up, which I think is the biggest insult one can give a professional footballer. Unacceptable.
“There was a lot of talk coming out this week, a lot of rubbish from players, apologies left to right and in the middle.
“It’s not good. It’s all rubbish, all that kind of rubbish coming out of players and the team Rashford and Maguire.
Fernandes a few weeks ago when he missed a penalty kick against Villa. Just show up and give everything you have for the club and they did not last week. This idea of players giving is the worst insult to a professional footballer. ”
Before moving on to Sky Sports: “They have to show some character.
“United have some very talented players, especially going forward, but many of the players defensively, the two boys in midfield, but Maguire and Shaw last week were an absolute disgrace to the club.
“They are established international footballers. Wan-Bissaka, I do not even think Palace would take him back! He is not good enough for Manchester United.
“No feel for the ball, decision making. But what Manchester United have always had over the years are players with character, with personalities – I can not see that with this group.

“I remember Maguire talking this week, he was like a robot. He said, ‘uhhh ohhh sorry to the fans’, there was no emotion behind it.
“And these guys are at the back of a European Championship for England, so they’ve met before in big matches. Shaw has fallen back to his own half from a few years ago.
“I’m tired of this chat after fights, people apologize. You have to arrange your game! You have to have the basics right. Do your own work.
“People keep saying, ‘he may not be in shape’ – be in shape? He gave a goal away to Leicester the second week, it has nothing to do with fitness! Just a lack of professionalism, not to perform his work properly. Midfield and defensive you worry. “
