Shots fired outside McNabb Recreation Center, Ottawa Mayor says

OTTAWA – Ottawa police are investigating a shooting that took place outside the McNabb Recreation Center in Ottawa.

In a statement on Twitter just before noon. 21 said Mayor Jim Watson said no injuries were fired after shots were fired outside the COVID-19 test center on Percy Street.

“I was concerned to learn that shots were fired tonight outside the McNabb vaccination clinic,” Watson said.

“We are fortunate that there were no injuries – but I am thinking of our staff who were present and played a key role in vaccinating our residents.”

A COVID-19 test center is in operation at the McNabb Recreation Center on Percy Street. Opening hours are 11am to 7pm, Monday to Sunday.

Police had no other information about the incident Friday night.

In a statement early Saturday morning, police said an employee had noticed damage to the building.
