Southwest Airlines pilot under investigation for saying ‘Let’s go Brandon’ during the announcement, the airline says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – A Southwest Airlines pilot is under investigation after he allegedly used a phrase used as a way to curse President Joe Biden.

The incident happened Friday on a plane out of Houston. The pilot was about to end his message when he used the phrase, “Let’s go Brandon.”

The video above is from a previous story.

An Associated Press reported on the flight said there were audible gasps from passengers after the pilot completed the announcement.

The phrase “Let’s go Brandon” has grown in right-wing circles, and now the seemingly optimistic mood – in fact, a stand-in to swear at President Joe Biden – is everywhere.

It all started on October 2 at a NASCAR race at the Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama. Brandon Brown, a 28-year-old rider, had won his first Xfinity Series and was interviewed by an NBC Sports reporter. The crowd behind him shouted something at first that was hard to understand. The reporter suggested they shout “Let’s go, Brandon” to cheer the driver. But it became more and more clear that they were saying, “F– Joe Biden.”

In a statement, Southwest Airlines said it was conducting an internal investigation into the reported incident, while “continuing to remind all employees that public expression of personal opinions while on duty is unacceptable.”
