Vancouver police arrested a Surrey man Saturday night after a woman was previously hit by a car and killed.
In a prepared statement, spokesman for the Vancouver Police Department, Sgt. Steve Addison said the 66-year-old woman was walking near East Broadway and Commercial Drive around 10:20 p.m., when she was hit by a 2005 silver Acura TL, which then fled east without stopping.
Addison said police found the suspected vehicle near Clark Drive and Powell Street and arrested a 30-year-old man from Surrey.
Alcohol and speed are presumed factors in the incident.
