Three accused killers arrested for two of Toronto’s most recent gun murders

Three men have been arrested in two of the seven deadly shootings that unfolded across the city during eight days of bloodshed.

Shots erupted in a parking lot at Bakersfield St. Close to Sheppard Ave. W. and Keele St. – around. 03:35 and killed one man and wounded another.

Officers responded to the scene and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said he was taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

“Shortly after the shooting, a man came to a local hospital on his own, where he was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound,” said homicide assistant-sgt. Robert Choe said in a statement released the same day.

“Both men had attended a private event prior to the shooting,” he said.

The dead man was later identified as Nikie Timm, 37, from Toronto.

Two Toronto men were arrested Saturday for Timm’s murder.

David Benjamin and Leary Hibbert, both 41, are each charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder.

So far this year, Toronto has been the target of 73 murders – 39 with weapons.

Saturday, October 23:

12:35 – Kamal Daley, 28, from Toronto, was shot dead at Jane St. and Yorkwoods Gate., south of Finch Ave. W.

2:20 – A 36-year-old man, Donald Leroy “Smokey” Marson, was fatally shot in a street on Eglinton Ave. W., near Keele St.

15:40 – Mathio Youkhanna, 24, was shot down in a parking lot at Weston Rd. and Hwy 401.

Sunday, October 24:

Thursday, October 28:

03:40 – Jamal James, 27, was shot dead on Washburn Way, near Neilson and Tapscott Rds., In Scarborough.

04:50 – A man in his 30s was walking his dog when he was shot dead on Kennedy Rd., Just north of Ellesmere Rd., In Scarborough.
