Two men fatally shot outside Brampton convention centre identified

The two men shot outside a Father’s Day banquet at a Brampton Convention Centre early Sunday morning have been identified by Peel Regional Police.

Kenroy Andre Benjamin, 28, of Bolton, was pronounced dead at the scene, and Sheldon Taylor, 40, from Whitby, was taken to a local trauma centre where he died from his injuries.

Officers responded to a call for shots fired around 2 a.m. on Sunday morning in the area of Gateway Boulevard and Queen St. E. and found two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

So far there is no suspect information but police believe this to be an isolated incident.
