US LBM Acquires Leading Building Materials Distributor Barrons in Washington, DC | News

GAITHERSBURG, Md., November 24, 2021 / PRNewswire / – US LBM, a leading distributor of custom building materials in The United States, has entered into a final agreement to acquire Barrons, a top supplier of timber and building materials to professional builders in Washington DC metropolitan area.

Barrons was founded in 1947 and serves professional builders, including remodelers, custom home builders and builders of outdoor living with specialty products such as patio tables, mills and custom-made items.

Barrons operates two facilities that service Washington DC the metropolitan area – a 6.6 hectare property in Gaithersburg, Md. and a 14.7-acre property in Manassas, Va., both locations include a showroom, warehouse and lumber.

“We look forward to embarking on this new chapter with US LBM to continue our growth and offer even more value to our customers and employees,” he said. Jim Davis, which has led Barrons since 2008, and will continue to lead day-to-day operations following the completion of the acquisition.

In October, US acquired LBM BuilderUp, another building materials distributor in the DC metropolitan area.

The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of the month, subject to the usual closing conditions.
