Hollywood star Simon Baker features in the new season of SBS’s popular genealogy series Who Do You Think You Are?
The Tasmanian-born actor, 52, will explore his ancestry with the help of historians and archivists.
A new trailer hints that Simon, who now lives in Bondi Beach, Sydney, may be in for a few surprises about his family history.

According to the promo, Simon’s family was a mystery to him growing up, and he did not even know the identity of his own father.
The trailer teases that Simon will be shocked and perhaps embarrassed by what he learns about his past.
‘What the hell did I agree to do this for?’ he says at one stage, before admitting his immediate family is ‘a mess’.

He adds: ‘The truth is, families have many different forms.
‘And I think if you can look at your own past and the past of your ancestors with compassion, you can carry that forward with you with a little more wisdom.’

Other stars featured in the thirteenth season of Who Do You Think You Are? include netball champ Liz Ellis, actor Paula Duncan, NRL legend Justin Hodges, chef Matt Moran, and Spicks and Specks star Myf Warhurst.
