Yu-Gi-Oh Creator celebrates Halloween with new Dark Magician Girl Art

Yu-Gi-Oh ‘s creator celebrated the spooky Halloween holiday with new Dark Magician Girl art! That Yu-Gi-Oh franchise has perhaps started in much more humble and far darker origins than where it all is now, and it is no real mystery why it has been blown up as it has become. Originally crafted as a much darker story about an Egyptian spirit hiding in the Millennium puzzle, it started with a series of death games that were very different from what the later anime would have you believe.

The shift in the series began when series creator Kazuki Takahashi began introducing a card game into these death games, and these continued to be so successful with fans that the series was quickly changed to deal with this trading card game in the future. Not only that, but every monster, spell and trap card design was also a pretty cool design. Such as the design for Dark Magician Girl, and Takahashi brought this fan favorite back to the limelight for a special celebration for Halloween in some cool new art on Instagram! Check it out below:

Yu-Gi-Oh ‘s anime and manga franchise, however, has evolved into a completely different place from that time. Although it had started with such a dark concept, the series has since changed in many significant ways since the release of the original series. Through numerous sequels, spin-offs and more, the franchise has become different and has not only changed its lists and themes each new season, but has also added new rules to the real trading card game.

But the reason fans have come to love the series over the years is that each new generation introduces a new set of fans favorite monster designs. While Dark Magician Girl remains a big fan favorite over the years after her debut in the original series, many more new magicians have joined since then. Then again, there is a reason why the Dark Magician Girl returned for this special holiday celebration. What do you think?
